Hotel Bonus Inn: 210 rooms renovated on a one-day takt
Consti renovated the 210 rooms of Hotel Bonus Inn on a one-day takt time, with the goal of keeping disruption to the running hotel to a minimum. 100 takts covered 400 takt areas and 9,000 tasks in Mestamaster over 7 months. The project finished on schedule and under budget, and Consti named it worksite of the year.

The Customer
Consti is one of the biggest players in the Finnish renovation industry, with a yearly revenue of €300M. Consti named Bonus Inn its worksite of the year, judged on financials, customer satisfaction and quality.
What was done
A full renovation of a 210-room hotel:
- Complete renovation of the hotel rooms and their bathrooms
- Corridors completely refurbished
- Air conditioning installed
How it was done
One goal of the renovation was to keep disruption to the hotel's operations to a minimum, and the room renovation ran on a one-day takt in Mestamaster to achieve it. The corridor renovation and the air conditioning installation were managed in a more traditional way, planned around the work running in the takt areas. When the hotel closed temporarily during the coronavirus pandemic, the pace was accelerated from two rooms a day to three.

However, takt does require that the site organisation is fully committed to using this method. There is also a clear benefit to the client when there is transparent monitoring of the work.
