Peab renovated the patient wing of Naistenklinikka, part of HUS, on a 2.5-day takt. Mestamaster built the schedule, adjusted it as production ran, and trained the site foremen and the contractors. 96 takts ran across 54 takt areas over 12 months.

The Customer
Peab is one of the largest construction companies in the Nordics and employs over 2,000 people in Finland. The building belongs to HUS, the largest provider of specialised healthcare in Finland.
What was done
Takt covered the fit-out of the hospital's patient rooms:
- Patient rooms fitted out across 54 takt areas, each about 150 m²
- Corridor works run on the same takt as the rooms
- Most of the technical building services included in the takt
How it was done
The takt was planned together with the contractors before production started, in the preparatory phase run by Vison's consultants. Mestamaster set up the schedule in the tool, handled the schedule adjustments during production, and trained the site foremen and the contractors to work with it.
Results
The site's routine for controlling the takt was exemplary and the contractors took part, which gave site management an accurate picture of progress. Schedule problems were caught and dealt with quickly. Reliability of performance was excellent across the 3,500 tasks tracked in Mestamaster.
