Lujatalo: Lahti hospital handed over with zero defects
Lujatalo built temporary hospital facilities for the Päijät-Häme healthcare region on a one-week takt, with 600 tasks tracked in Mestamaster. The site ran 34 takts across 15 takt areas over eight months and handed the hospital over with zero defects.

Lujatalo is part of Luja Group, one of the largest groups in Finnish construction and an early adopter of digital methods on site. The end client, the Päijät-Häme healthcare region, organises services for more than 200,000 inhabitants across ten municipalities.
What was done
Temporary facilities built for a working hospital:

- Scheduling and coordination run on a one-week takt across 15 takt areas
How it was done
The project had appointed foremen who already knew Mestamaster and takt scheduling, so under their lead the site carried more of the takt preparation than usual. Work started with the scheduling workshops and moved into a morning huddle routine that ran from there. The site used a one-week takt.
Results
The hospital work was scheduled so that a critical path to the start of the works was found, particularly in the early stages of the project. Schedule transparency improved and contractors had a clearer picture of what they owed in which space and at which time. The site kept up its task monitoring routine throughout, and the hospital was handed over with zero defects.
